I recently worked with Yashowardhan on a commissioned painting for a project in Portland, OR USA. The collaborative process went smoothly despite our distance. I shared images of the site and some notes on the project design aesthetics, and shipped swatches of the room material palette - including area carpet, fabrics, and finishes - via mail. The artist sent back recommended paint colors for review. Yash developed several subject concepts and shared sketches via email. After a round of iterations incorporating my and client feedback, he completed the final work. During the process he guided with an artist's eye while remaining open to feedback. The piece was finished promptly and meticulously packaged. It could be shipped rolled, and I stretched it locally. Installed, it makes the room and has personalized meaning to the homeowners. Depicting a gypsy dancer with an abstract background, the subject matter has great movement and character. The main colors - a subdued warm mauve and pink - compliment the decor. Yash added gold detailing to the dancer's jewelry and garment for interest. The work was carefully scaled to the site and fits seamlessly in the modern space. Such a unique focal point!

Yash is talented in painting in various kinds including mural paintings, photography, videography and possibly more that he has not told yet out of natural humbleness.
There was no hesitation of me asking for his help on my project, a new food factory / gallery development, for his wide and enriched experience on different needs in various business fields not to mention the level of his previous artistic achievements he presented.
His interpretation seems based upon his own unique view that possibly comes from his various experiences but more importantly it is never selfish I witnessed; rather, it always comes close to solidarity. And, he is good at that.

Thanks to Yash’s work, the project was completed, and hundreds of people visited and appreciated his murals. The mural size was at lease 8’ x 15’, and it still remains as part of the facility. The year must have been 2003-2004, when we were introduced to Yashowardhan by Dr. Prakash Kothari (famously known as one of the world’s premier sexologist and a fond art collector). Our architect and interior designer Kaif Faquih had styled our family room which had a stone wall that divided the area to nine niches. Doctor insisted that those niches were the ideal canvas for this young artist. A “Bastar” tribe (originating from Madhya Pradesh) depicted by Yashowardhan found its habitat in those nine spaces.
It was love before first sight so to say and the romance with Yashowardhan’s art continues as young as ever in our home even after 15 years.
Meetings with Yashowardhan are never planned. Whenever we desire “art,” he shows up like a genie- from wherever he is in this world! We kind of embarked on a trip of spiritual art.
Not only is he a master of creative and several artistic mediums and technique, but he is a story-teller, a philosopher, and our in-house magician.
Yashowardhan researches the themes deeply and extensively. His hand then compellingly and creatively brings the wealth of our religious philosophies to life.
Our home can never have enough of Yashowardhan- the heart always wants more of his colours and creations.
